Antonny is a seasoned transactional lawyer with 20 years of experience in Financial Services, International Strategic Investments, Business Transactions, Dispute Resolution, Corporate Governance, Trade Policy, and Trade Law.
As the Founding Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary at Kigali International Financial Centre, Antonny led policy reforms (Structuring of Investment vehicles and tax incentives), advisory and compliance with International Standards (OECD & FATF) which has positioned Rwanda as a preferred business, investment and financial hub in Africa.
Antonny also worked at the Ministry of Justice/Attorney General’s Office, Rwanda as Senior State Attorney/ Contract Drafting Analyst. He advised and participated in the negotiation of Government strategic projects (Transport, Energy, Project Finance, Infrastructure, Telecom).
Antonny has served as a Board Member of the Kigali International Arbitration Centre and was the Chief Legal Expert on the Rwandan team which successfully negotiated the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AFCFTA).
Antonny is a practicing advocate and a member of the Rwanda Bar Association and East African Law Society.
Antonny holds a Master of Science (MSc) in International Trade Policy and Trade Law (Lundi University, Sweden) and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Business, Corporate, and Maritime Law (Erasmus University, the Netherlands). He also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Uganda Christian University as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development, Rwanda.
Antonny is a Certified Compliance Professional (International Compliance Association UK), certified Mediator (Edwards Mediation Academy, US), Accredited Mediator (Supreme Court, Rwanda) and Accredited Mediator (Kigali International Arbitration Centre).
